Where's the eject button?

Ok sooo HONESTLY, I can NOT relate to those who have the "Pregnancy is beautiful...The most amazing experience of my life" look on things. I consider myself an optimist and a go getter BUT I feel a need to complain! IT IS SO HOT! My sweet little girl is destined to be a kick boxer, AND she lives with the hiccups. I would LOVE to be able to take a deep breath without feeling like I'm going to explode. I feel her in my ribs 24-7 and I haven't slept through the night in nearly 4 months..Not to mention the "wonderful" first 5 months. I KNOW, I KNOW It's all worth it.. But I am soooo ready to get this show on the road.

Ok enough complaining, we are very lucky. Grace is doing very well, she is measuring right on track. I am 35 weeks today ( hallelujah) with relatively little weight gain :). I am ready to start decorating her nursery in the new house. We have our first walk through today and we will close on the the 8th! yay! We pray for an easy delivery! ( for our baby and our things to the new house, ha!)

THANK YOU THANK YOU

What a great weekend! We could not have asked for a better baby shower! Mike and I are so thankful to all of the family and friends that helped throw us the most AMAZING baby shower weekend... It helps to have family that likes to party!

The Baby Shower at Buppy's for all the ladies was awesome! Jill and Amy really outdid themselves and worked so hard, and all of my friends and family/hostesses that helped contribute THANK YOU!! Jill and Nathan also threw us a Diaper Shower/Barbeque, at Nathan's house and it was a ton of fun.

My Dad and Charlotte were able to come into town for the festivities along with a lot of out of town family. It is always great to see everyone, It's hard not living close to family that you love so much!

Needless to say Baby Grace is so blessed to have so many people to love her! I can already tell that I am going to have one spoiled little girl to deal with :)

Baby Update :)

Today we had out 4-D Ultrasound, it was really a neat experience. Mike couldn't get off of work so Mom and Jill when with me. So Grace is VERY active all of the time so I was a little worried she wouldn't cooperate with the ultrasound and for most of the time she didn't. The tech had to keep jiggling her around and moving me from side to side. When we first started the scan she was sucking on her toes... then she stretched her head back and pushed her face up against my uterus so she looked smooshed  up. After about 15 minutes she started to cooperate but not for long. She has little pouty lips and chubby cheeks :) She measured in the 48th percentile for her growth which is GREAT (no worries about having a large baby). She measured right at 4 lbs, I asked the tech if she had short legs ( like me) and she said NO they looked average.. So maybe she's got a shot at being taller than 5 foot! HA. She also yawned about 5 times during the scan which was soo neat to see. We got about a 20 minute DVD of her moving around and acting silly.

I am really excited about this weekend, We have our baby shower and lots of family coming into town. I am super excited about seeing my Dad.. It's been about a year since we saw him last.

I Survived!

My first year of teaching has officially come to a close. This has been one of the most challenging times of my life and I am glad it is over! We had more life changing events in one year than most people have in 5 years.

Timeline of events:
March 8,2008 - Mike and I got married :)

October - I was hired on with Bryan ISD very quickly, while we were living in Kyle. I gave 2 weeks notice to the Methodist church and moved in with my mother, while Mike stayed with the Physical Therapy clinic in San Marcos.

November - Thanksgiving we found our we were pregnant....

December - Mike moved to Bryan ( finally), starting a New job with the Texas Department of Health Services, We moved into a Duplex in Bryan. The Sickness began the week of Christmas...uhg.

January- Endured 3 weeks of miserable nausea at work. Martin Luther King day marks my Medical Leave

February - A blurr of extreme weight loss, Hospital Stays, IV packs, and hugging the porcelain thrown

March - A light at the end of the tunnel :) Mike and I celebrate our 1st anniversary with FOOD ( haha) I returned to work just in time to prepare for TAKS! oh joy

April- WE ARE NUTS!!! We put a contract on a house, to close July 6th ( keep in mind Grace is due at the end of July)

And during the short time I was working this year.. I was called every curse you can think of and some you can't, by hormonal, moody, 8th grade teens.

All in all it has been a whirlwind of a year and I have come to really appreciate the small things in life. I've always said that God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but what I didn't realize was that He may push you to the edge, only to show you that you are capable of enduring so much more than you think. I am so thankful to be HEALTHY,  to have a wonderful husband, and a family that comes together in stressful situations. NEXT year is going to be a piece of cake... hopefully :)

What's a Blog?

Ok soo, We are going to give this bloggin' stuff a shot. I was told today by a fellow teacher that I should blog... and with a busy summer approaching I should have plenty to write about (not to mention, it should give me something to do) SOO I"M BLOGGIN!

I have one HALF day left of teaching this week until summer vacation, and I am super excited! Mike and I have a long list of things to get done this summer,
- June 8th ( 4D sonogram of baby Grace)
- June 13th Baby shower and Diaper shower
- July 6th close on our new house!
- Last week of July, HAVE A BABY!!

We hope to be all moved in to our new house before Grace is born, but we'll see. She is right on track with her growth, even measuring a little big (which is great considering the rough start we had). She never stops moving, Mike can really get her going in the evening, he is already irritating her :). He pokes at her and she pokes back... he's also been chasing her with the flashlight, which she seems to hate. Of course he thinks it's hilarious, I'm slightly less amused..
